This is the seal of Ernulf
  de Cielesfeld from a
  Charter of 1143. The
  Charter is thought to be
  the earliest known
  document apart from
  the Domesday Book
  which refers to
  Chelsfield. The seal
  depicts a knight on
  horseback in a helmet
  and shield, the Latin
  inscription reads “the
  seal of Ernulf, Lord of
  Chelsfield”.
